Maekok River Village Resort is located 173 kms (3 hrs) north of Chiang Mai, and 90 kms (1.5 hrs) from Chiang Rai on the banks of the Maekok River, in the Thai-Burma border village of Ban Thaton. Maekok River Village Resort is set on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, on 3 acres of landscaped riverside land on the south bank of the river. Constructed in a modern Thai style from local materials, the resort is designed primarily to cater to families. The resort is also the boarding point for the well established long tailed boat / bamboo raft / river barge & canoe trips between Ban Thaton & Chiang Rai.
